Privacy Policy – klik

In short: klik collects as little as possible. You play anonymously (no account with email or password), we show no ads and do not sell your data. We do use limited, anonymous usage statistics to improve the app (see below).

1. Who we are

This privacy policy concerns the mobile app klik ("the app"). The data controller is Amarena Holding B.V. (Dutch Chamber of Commerce / KvK 82566208, "we"). Privacy questions? Email privacy@amarenaholding.com.

2. What data we process

Anonymous app account. When you start the app, it creates a random, anonymous account id (no email address, name or password). This id links your settings and any purchase to your device.
Player names you enter. In "one phone" mode they stay on your device. In "own phone per player" (multiplayer) mode, the names along with the choices made and the scores are shared with the other players in the same room and processed on our server so the game can work. Feel free to use a first name or a nickname.
Purchases. If you buy the Premium pack, Google Play or Apple process the payment and our purchase provider (RevenueCat) processes the purchase status, linked to your anonymous id, so we can activate premium. We do not receive or store payment card details.
Limited technical data. As with any online service, our providers automatically receive technical data (such as IP address and device type) to deliver the service and prevent abuse.
Usage statistics (analytics). We use an analytics service to collect anonymized/pseudonymized usage data, such as which features and screens are used and whether actions succeed. This is linked to your anonymous app id, not your identity, and helps us improve the app. We do not use it for advertising.
Stored on your device. Your preferences (theme, sound, vibration) and your records (best alignment, longest streak, highest level) are stored only on your device and not sent to us.
No audio recording. The app plays sound effects but does not record audio and does not use the microphone.

3. What we use it for

To run the app and the multiplayer mode.
To process purchases and activate the Premium pack.
To secure the service and prevent abuse.
To improve the app based on anonymized usage statistics.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or marketing. Under the GDPR, the legal basis is the performance of the contract (delivering the app) and our legitimate interest in running the service securely and improving it.

4. Who we share data with

We only share data with service providers that help us deliver the app:

Supabase – database and hosting for the anonymous accounts and the multiplayer rooms.
RevenueCat – processing of the purchase and premium status.
Google Play / Apple – payments and distribution of the app.
Mixpanel (EU edition, EU data residency) – anonymized usage statistics (analytics) to improve the app.

We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertising networks.

5. Transfers outside the EEA

Some of these service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case we ensure appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep data

We do not keep data longer than necessary. Multiplayer room data is temporary and is cleaned up afterwards. We keep the purchase status for as long as your premium entitlement is valid. You can request deletion (see below).

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections and access restrictions, to protect your data.

8. Children

klik is suitable from age 12 (store rating) and has a family-friendly mode. The app is not directed at collecting personal data from children and collects minimal data anyway. Parents and guardians: please supervise, and contact us if you would like data deleted.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. Send your request to privacy@amarenaholding.com. Because your account is anonymous, we may ask you to provide your anonymous app id so we can find the right data. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

10. Changes

We may update this privacy policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed; for significant changes we will notify you in the app or on this page.
